An interesting day …

Today I had reminders that:

People hear the most favourable of all possible things when you speak to them, regardless of what you’re actually saying …

Photoshop CS5 needs the “optional plugins download” in order to support using TWAIN scanners …

Dear Ghod, Epson’s uk site is sllllllllooooowwwww to load fully and become responsive …

… and navigating same sucks

Some plugins only work in the 32 bit version of photoshop … and Adobe’s directions on which folder to use may not be *totally* clear on the first read through …

That a film specific profile from an IT8 target may well work better than a scanner target made from a generic “fuji” or “kodak” target, on matter how many more patches the generic target may have …

The Epson V700 / V750 scanner really can capture a lot of detail … if your original contains that level of detail ;)

Windows 7′s handling of applications that have multiple (especially modal) windows open really does make it a lot easier to work with such applications (Photoshop “import” and Epson scan, I’m looking at you) …

Mobile access to email is a wonderful thing …

As is being able to edit HTML directly with a text editor …

It would be nice if some clients would read the screen in front of them *before* calling me (Hey Richard) …

Oh, and the Sun really is at least 10 stops brighter (in old, rounded money, that’s a thousand times brighter) than anything else in your landscape image … so plan to shoot (underexposed) brackets that cover that range (at least) if you’re planning to experiment with HDR and include the sun in your shot …
